حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ع

َنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنْ انْتَظَرَهَا حَتَّى تُوضَعَ فِي اللَّحْدِ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ وَالْقِيرَاطَانِ مِثْلُ الْجَبَلَيْنِ الْعَظِيمَيْنِ

English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via 'Abd al-Razzaq, from Ma'mar, from al-Zuhri, from Ibn al-Musayyab — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever prays the funeral prayer — he has one qirat [of reward]. And whoever waits until [the body] is placed in the lahd [grave niche] — he has two qirats. And two qirats are like two great mountains.'
