حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ أَتَى أَعْرَابِيٌّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِأَرْنَبٍ قَدْ شَوَاهَا وَمَعَهَا صِنَابُهَا وَأُدُمُهَا فَوَضَعَهَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَأَمْسَكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ ع
َلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَمْ يَأْكُلْ وَأَمَرَ أَصْحَابَهُ أَنْ يَأْكُلُوا فَأَمْسَكَ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا يَمْنَعُكَ أَنْ تَأْكُلَ قَالَ إِنِّي أَصُومُ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ الشَّهْرِ قَالَ إِنْ كُنْتَ صَائِمًا فَصُمْ أَيَّامَ الْغُرِّ

English Translation
'Affan narrated to us, Abu 'Awanah narrated to us, 'Abd al-Malik ibn 'Umayr narrated to us, from Musa ibn Talhah, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: A Bedouin came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with a rabbit he had grilled and placed it before him. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ held back and did not eat. He told the Companions to eat. The Bedouin also held back. the Prophet ﷺ said to him: 'What prevents you?' He said: 'I fast three days of every month.' the Prophet ﷺ said: 'If you fast, then fast the white days (13th, 14th, 15th of the lunar month).'
