حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ أَبِ
يهِ عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لَمَّا قَضَى اللَّهُ الْخَلْقَ كَتَبَ فِي كِتَابٍ فَهُوَ عِنْدَهُ فَوْقَ الْعَرْشِ إِنَّ رَحْمَتِي غَلَبَتْ غَضَبِي

English Translation
Husayn narrated to us, Ibn Abi al-Zinad narrated to us, from his father, from al-A'raj, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Allah divided mercy into one hundred parts. He retained ninety-nine parts with Himself and sent down one part to the earth. From that one part comes all the compassion that creation shows to one another, so that a mare lifts her hoof away from her foal, fearing that she might step on it.'
