English Translation
Abu Ja'far narrated to us, 'Abd al-Samad ibn Habib al-Azdi narrated to us, from his father Habib ibn 'Abdullah, from Shubayl, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us and said: 'Shall I not tell you of the best of you from the worst of you?' They remained silent. He said it three times. Then a man said: 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'The best of you is the one whose good is hoped for and whose evil people are safe from. And the worst of you is the one whose good is not hoped for and whose evil people are not safe from.'
