حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ خَلِيفَةَ عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ قَالَ كُنْتُ خَلْفَ أَبِي هُرَيْ
رَةَ وَهُوَ يَتَوَضَّأُ وَهُوَ يُمِرُّ الْوَضُوءَ إِلَى إِبْطِهِ فَقُلْتُ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ مَا هَذَا الْوُضُوءُ قَالَ يَا بَنِي فَرُّوخَ أَنْتُمْ هَاهُنَا لَوْ عَلِمْتُ أَنَّكُمْ هَاهُنَا مَا تَوَضَّأْتُ هَذَا الْوُضُوءَ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ خَلِيلِي يَقُولُ تَبْلُغُ الْحِلْيَةُ مِنْ الْمُؤْمِنِ إِلَى حَيْثُ يَبْلُغُ الْوُضُوءُ

English Translation
Husayn ibn Muhammad narrated to us who (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that khalaf, meaning Ibn Khalifah, narrated to us, from Abu Malik al-Ashja'i, from Abu Hazim who said: I was behind Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), and he was performing ablution for prayer. He would extend washing his hand up to his armpit. I said to him: 'O Abu Hurayrah, what is this ablution?' He said: 'O Banu Farrukh, you are here? If I had known you were here, I would not have done ablution like this. I heard my beloved ﷺ say: The adornment of the believer reaches wherever the ablution water reaches.'
