English Translation
Ishaq narrated to us, Malik informed us, from Suhayl, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ hosted a guest. the Prophet ﷺ sent word to one of his wives, and she said: 'By the One Who sent you with the truth, I have nothing but water.' Then he sent to another, and she said the same. Each of them said: 'By the One Who sent you with the truth, I have nothing but water.' the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Who will host this man tonight?' A man from the Ansar said: 'I will, O Messenger of Allah.' He took him home and told his wife. She said: 'We only have the children's food.' He said: 'Put the children to sleep and extinguish the lamp.' They pretended to eat while the guest ate. The next morning the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Allah has marveled at what you two did last night.' Then Allah revealed: 'And they give them preference over themselves even though they are in need.'
