English Translation
Affan narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, he said Ammar ibn Abi Ammar informed us, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Musa (عليه السلام) was a shy, modest man. He was never seen uncovered. The Children of Israel harmed him by saying: "He only covers himself because he has a skin defect — either leprosy, scrotal hernia, or some ailment." So Allah wanted to exonerate him. One day he secluded himself and placed his garment on a stone. Then he bathed. When he finished, he went to take his garment but the stone moved away with it. Musa followed the stone saying: "My garment, O stone! My garment, O stone!" until the Children of Israel saw him and said: "By Allah, Musa has no defect." He took his garment and began striking the stone.'
