حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوْ أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ لَوْ أَنَّ الْأَنْصَارَ سَلَكُوا
وَادِيًا أَوْ شِعْبًا وَسَلَكَ النَّاسُ وَادِيًا أَوْ شِعْبًا لَسَلَكْتُ وَادِيَ الْأَنْصَارِ وَلَوْلَا الْهِجْرَةُ لَكُنْتُ امْرَأً مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ قَالَ فَكَانَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ مَا ظَلَمَ بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي لَقَدْ آوَوْهُ وَنَصَرُوهُ وَكَلِمَةً أُخْرَى

English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us: Shu'bah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ziyad, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ — or Abu al-Qasim — said: 'If the Ansar were to take a valley or a mountain pass, and the rest of the people took another valley or mountain pass, I would take the valley of the Ansar. Were it not for the Hijrah, I would have been a man of the Ansar.' Abu Hurayrah used to say: 'He did them no injustice — by my father and mother — for they gave him shelter and supported him,' and another word.
