حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ قَالَ أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَوْ سَلَكَتْ الْأَنْصَارُ وَادِيًا أَوْ شِعْبًا لَسَلَكْتُ شِعْبَ الْأَنْصَارِ أَوْ وَادِيَ الْأَنْصَارِ
وَلَوْلَا الْهِجْرَةُ لَكُنْتُ امْرَأً مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَمَا ظَلَمَ بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَآوَوْهُ وَنَصَرُوهُ قَالَ وَأَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ وَوَاسَوْهُ

English Translation
'Affan narrated to us: Shu'bah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ziyad, who said: I heard Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) saying: Abu al-Qasim ﷺ said: 'If the Ansar were to take a valley or a mountain pass, I would take the mountain pass of the Ansar — or the valley of the Ansar. Were it not for the Hijrah, I would have been a man of the Ansar.' Abu Hurayrah said: 'He did them no injustice — by my father and mother ﷺ — they gave him shelter and supported him.' He said: 'And I think he also said: and shared with him.'
