حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ وَكَانَ كَاتِبًا لِعَلِيٍّ قَالَ كَانَ مَرْوَانُ يَسْتَخْلِفُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ فَاسْتَخْلَفَهُ مَرَّةً فَصَلَّى الْجُمُعَةَ فَقَرَأَ س
ُورَةَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَإِذَا جَاءَكَ الْمُنَافِقُونَ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ مَشَيْتُ إِلَى جَنْبِهِ فَقُلْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قَرَأْتَ بِسُورَتَيْنِ قَرَأَ بِهِمَا عَلِيٌّ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام قَالَ قَرَأَ بِهِمَا حِبِّي أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

English Translation
Yahya narrated to us, he said: Ja'far ibn Muhammad narrated to us, he said: My father narrated to me from 'Ubaydullah ibn Abi Rafi', who was a scribe of 'Ali (رضي الله عنه), who said: Marwan used to appoint Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) as his deputy over Madinah. He appointed him once, and he led the Jumu'ah prayer, reciting Surah al-Jumu'ah and 'Idha Ja'aka al-Munafiqun.' When he finished, I walked beside him and said: "O Abu Hurayrah, you recited two surahs that 'Ali (عليه السلام) used to recite." He said: "My beloved Abu al-Qasim ﷺ used to recite them."
