حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْ

رَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَا سَالَمْنَاهُنَّ مُنْذُ حَارَبْنَاهُنَّ مَنْ تَرَكَ شَيْئًا خَشْيَةً فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا يَعْنِي الْحَيَّاتِ

English Translation

Yahya narrated to us from Ibn 'Ajlan, he said: I heard my father, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ who said: "We have not been at peace with them (snakes) since we declared war on them. Whoever leaves them alone out of fear is not one of us."
