Hadith #208
Arabic Text
وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِذَا أَحَبَّ الْعَبْدُ لِقَائِي أَحْبَبْتُ لِقَاءَهُ وَإِذَا كَرِهَ الْعَبْدُ لِقَائِي كَرِهْتُ لِقَاءَهُ قَالَ فَقِيلَ لِأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ مَا مِنَّا مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلَّا وَهُوَ يَكْرَهُ الْمَوْتَ وَيَفْظَعُ بِهِ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ إِنَّهُ إِذَا كَانَ ذَلِكَ كَشَفَ بِهِ
English Translation
With the same chain of narration, he said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Allah (عز وجل) said: "When My servant loves to meet Me, I love to meet him. And when My servant dislikes meeting Me, I dislike meeting him." It was said to Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه): "There is none among us who does not dislike death and dread it." Abu Hurayrah said: "When that time comes, it will be revealed to him."
