حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عُقَيْلٌ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنْ الرَّجُلِ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَ الْمَرْأَةِ وَبَيْنَ خَالَةِ أَبِيهَا
وَالْمَرْأَةِ وَخَالَةِ أُمِّهَا أَوْ بَيْنَ الْمَرْأَةِ وَعَمَّةِ أَبِيهَا أَوْ الْمَرْأَةِ وَعَمَّةِ أُمِّهَا فَقَالَ قَالَ قَبِيصَةُ بْنُ ذُؤَيْبٍ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُجْمَعَ بَيْنَ الْمَرْأَةِ وَخَالَتِهَا وَبَيْنَ الْمَرْأَةِ وَعَمَّتِهَا فَنَرَى خَالَةَ أُمِّهَا وَعَمَّةَ أُمِّهَا بِتِلْكَ الْمَنْزِلَةِ وَإِنْ كَانَ مِنْ الرَّضَاعِ يَكُونُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ بِتِلْكَ الْمَنْزِلَةِ

English Translation
Hajjaj narrated to us, he said: Layth narrated to us, he said: 'Uqayl narrated to me, from Ibn Shihab, that he was asked about a man combining in marriage a woman and her father's maternal aunt, or a woman and her mother's maternal aunt, or a woman and her father's paternal aunt, or a woman and her mother's paternal aunt. He said: Qabisah ibn Dhu'ayb said: I heard Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) saying: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited combining a woman in marriage with her maternal aunt, and combining a woman with her paternal aunt. We consider the mother's maternal aunt and the mother's paternal aunt to hold the same status, and likewise in the case of breastfeeding."
