حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَمْرٍو قَالَ
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَنْزَلَ الْقُرْآنَ عَلَى سَبْعَةِ أَحْرُفٍ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ

English Translation
Ibn Numayr narrated to us, who said: Muhammad — meaning Ibn 'Amr — narrated to us, who said: Abu Salamah narrated to us from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Indeed, Allah (عز وجل) revealed the Qur'an upon seven ahruf (modes of recitation): All-Knowing, All-Wise, All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.'
