Hadith #317

حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا الْعَوَّامُ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِثَلَاثٍ وَلَسْتُ بِتَارِكِهِنَّ فِي سَفَرٍ وَلَا حَضَرٍ أَنْ لَا أَنَامَ إِلَّا عَلَى وِتْرٍ وَأَنْ أَصُومَ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ وَأَنْ لَا أَدَعَ رَكْعَتَيْ الضُّحَى فَإِنَّهَا صَلَاةُ الْأَوَّابِينَ
English Translation
Yazid narrated to us, al-Awwam narrated to us, Sulayman ibn Abi Sulayman narrated to us that he heard Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) say: 'My beloved friend (ﷺ) advised me with three things that I shall never abandon until I die: fasting three days of every month, the Duha prayer, and sleeping after performing Witr.'
