حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحٌ عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ يَوْمًا وَهُوَ يُحَدِّثُ وَعِنْدَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَادِيَةِ إِنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ اسْتَأْذَنَ رَبَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فِي الزَّرْعِ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَبُّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَلَسْتَ فِيمَا شِئْتَ قَالَ بَلَى وَلَكِنْ أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَزْرَعَ قَالَ فَبَذَرَ فَبَادَرَ
الطَّرْفَ نَبَاتُهُ وَاسْتِوَاؤُهُ وَاسْتِحْصَادُهُ فَكَانَ أَمْثَالَ الْجِبَالِ قَالَ فَيَقُولُ لَهُ رَبُّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ دُونَكَ يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يُشْبِعُكَ شَيْءٌ قَالَ فَقَالَ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ وَاللَّهِ لَا تَجِدُهُ إِلَّا قُرَشِيًّا أَوْ أَنْصَارِيًّا فَإِنَّهُمْ أَصْحَابُ زَرْعٍ وَأَمَّا نَحْنُ فَلَسْنَا بِأَصْحَابِهِ قَالَ فَضَحِكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

English Translation
Abd al-Malik ibn Amr narrated to us, Fulayh narrated to us, from Hilal ibn Ali, from Ata ibn Yasar, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), that the Prophet ﷺ said one day while narrating to his companions: 'A man has never spoken in the cradle except three: Isa ibn Maryam (عليه السلام), and the companion of Jurayj.' They said: 'Who was the companion of Jurayj, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'Jurayj was a monk in his hermitage. A woman came to him and spoke to him, but he refused. Then a shepherd came to her, and she gave herself to him. She bore a child and claimed it was from Jurayj. The people came and destroyed his hermitage. He prayed, then went to the child and said: Who is your father, O boy? The infant said: The shepherd.'
