حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ يَزِيدَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْهَادِ عَنْ عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِنّ
َ إِبْلِيسَ قَالَ لِرَبِّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَعِزَّتِكَ وَجَلَالِكَ لَا أَبْرَحُ أُغْوِي بَنِي آدَمَ مَا دَامَتْ الْأَرْوَاحُ فِيهِمْ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَبُّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَبِعِزَّتِي وَجَلَالِي لَا أَبْرَحُ أَغْفِرُ لَهُمْ مَا اسْتَغْفَرُونِي

English Translation
Yunus narrated to us, Layth narrated to us, from Yazid — meaning Ibn al-Had — from 'Amr, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه) who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Indeed Iblis said to his Lord: By Your Might and Majesty, I will continue to mislead the children of Adam as long as their souls are in their bodies. The Lord (عز وجل) said: By My Might and Majesty, I will continue to forgive them as long as they seek My forgiveness.'
