حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ
أَبِي هِنْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ لَمَّا أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نَرْجُمَ مَاعِزَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ خَرَجْنَا بِهِ إِلَى الْبَقِيعِ فَوَاللَّهِ مَا حَفَرْنَا لَهُ وَلَا أَوْثَقْنَاهُ وَلَكِنَّهُ قَامَ لَنَا فَرَمَيْنَاهُ بِالْعِظَامِ وَالْخَزَفِ فَاشْتَكَى فَخَرَجَ يَشْتَدُّ حَتَّى انْتَصَبَ لَنَا فِي عُرْضِ الْحَرَّةِ فَرَمَيْنَاهُ بِجَلَامِيدِ الْجَنْدَلِ حَتَّى سَكَتَ

English Translation
Yahya ibn Zakariyya ibn Abi Za'idah narrated to us, Dawud ibn Abi Hind narrated to us, from Abu Nadrah, from Abu Sa'id (رضي الله عنه) who said: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to free slaves, Bilal (رضي الله عنه) came with a man who had two slave girls. He freed one and kept the other. the Prophet ﷺ said: 'What is this man's story?' When he was informed, he said: 'Each of them has been freed; Allah has freed them.' He [Abu Sa'id] said: And the people hastened to free [their slaves].
