حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ حَدَّثَهُمْ أَنَّ غُلَامًا لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتَاهُ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ بِتَمْرٍ رَيَّانَ وَكَانَ تَمْرُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى ال
لَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعْلًا فِيهِ يُبْسٌ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّى لَكَ هَذَا التَّمْرُ فَقَالَ هَذَا صَاعٌ اشْتَرَيْنَاهُ بِصَاعَيْنِ مِنْ تَمْرِنَا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تَفْعَلْ فَإِنَّ هَذَا لَا يَصْلُحُ وَلَكِنْ بِعْ تَمْرَكَ وَاشْتَرِ مِنْ أَيِّ تَمْرٍ شِئْتَ
Isnad Chain
English Translation
Yazid narrated to us, Sa'id informed us, from Qatadah, from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyab, that Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه) narrated to them that a slave of the Prophet ﷺ came to him one day and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, free me.' the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Do you have anything?' He said: 'I have two mules and a cloak.' the Prophet ﷺ said: 'You are of moderate means among the people.' He took back [from the slave what he had offered for his freedom] and set him free.
