حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَتَتَّبِعُنَّ سُنَنَ
بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ شِبْرًا بِشِبْرٍ وَذِرَاعًا بِذِرَاعٍ حَتَّى لَوْ دَخَلَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ جُحْرَ ضَبٍّ لَتَبِعْتُمُوهُمْ فِيهِ وَقَالَ مَرَّةً لَتَبِعْتُمُوهُ فِيهِ

English Translation
Abdur-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar informed us, from Zayd ibn Aslam, from a man, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "You will surely follow the ways of those who came before you, handspan by handspan, cubit by cubit, until if they entered the hole of a lizard, you would enter it." They said: "O Messenger of Allah, the Jews and Christians?" He said: "Who else?"
