حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَشْهَبِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نَضْرَةَ الْعَبْدِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَال

َ رَأَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي أَصْحَابِهِ تَأَخُّرًا فَقَالَ تَقَدَّمُوا فَأْتَمُّوا بِي وَلْيَأْتَمَّ بِكُمْ مَنْ بَعْدَكُمْ وَلَا يَزَالُ قَوْمٌ يَتَأَخَّرُونَ حَتَّى يُؤَخِّرَهُمْ اللَّهُ

English Translation

Waki' narrated to us, Abu al-Ash'hab narrated to us, Abu Nadrah al-'Abdi narrated to us, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ noticed his Companions hanging back, so he said: 'Come forward and follow me, and let those behind you follow you. People will continue to hang back until Allah puts them at the back.'
