English Translation

Hasan narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Thabit al-Bunani, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه), that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ visited a man from the Ansar and said: 'O maternal uncle, say La ilaha illallah (There is no deity but Allah).' He said: 'Is he my maternal uncle or my paternal uncle?' He said: 'Rather your maternal uncle.' He said: 'Then it is better for me to say La ilaha illallah?' He said: 'Yes.'
