Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ja'far ibn Sulayman narrated to us, he said: Thabit al-Bunani narrated to me, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Prophet ﷺ used to break his fast on fresh dates (rutab) before praying. If there were no fresh dates, then on dried dates (tamr). If there were no dried dates, he would take a few sips of water.
