English Translation

Isma'il ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn Suhayb narrated to us, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ freed Safiyyah (رضي الله عنها) and married her. Thabit asked him: 'What was her mahr?' He said: 'Himself — he freed her and married her.' On the journey, Umm Sulaym prepared her for him, and he consummated the marriage that night. In the morning he said: 'Whoever has food, let him bring it.' A leather mat was spread, and people brought dates, dried yogurt, and clarified butter. They mixed a dish and that was the wedding feast of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
