Hadith #82

حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَ سَمِعْتُ هِلَالَ بْنَ أَبِي دَاوُدَ الْحَبَطِيَّ أَبَا هِشَامٍ قَالَ أَخِي هَارُونُ بْنُ أَبِي دَاوُدَ حَدَّثَنِي قَالَ أَتَيْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ فَقُلْتُ يَا أَبَا حَمْزَةَ إِنَّ الْمَكَانَ بَعِيدٌ وَنَحْنُ يُعْجِبُنَا أَنْ نَعُودَكَ فَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ فَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
يَقُولُ أَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ يَعُودُ مَرِيضًا فَإِنَّمَا يَخُوضُ فِي الرَّحْمَةِ فَإِذَا قَعَدَ عِنْدَ الْمَرِيضِ غَمَرَتْهُ الرَّحْمَةُ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَذَا لِلصَّحِيحِ الَّذِي يَعُودُ الْمَرِيضَ فَالْمَرِيضُ مَا لَهُ قَالَ تُحَطُّ عَنْهُ ذُنُوبُهُ

English Translation
Hasan ibn Musa narrated to us, he said: I heard Hilal ibn Abi Dawud al-Habati Abu Hisham say: My brother Harun ibn Abi Dawud narrated to me, he said: I came to Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) and said: 'O Abu Hamzah, the distance is far and we would be pleased if you would narrate to us.' He said: 'My companions and I were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ — meaning they were in his service — and he never said to us about anything we did: Why did you do that? Nor about anything we did not do: Why did you not do that?'
