Hadith #157

حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُوَيْسٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ أَنَّ أَخَاهُ أَخْبَرَ أَنَّ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا الْكَوْثَرُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هُوَ نَهَرٌ
أَعْطَانِيهِ اللَّهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ أَبْيَضُ مِنْ اللَّبَنِ وَأَحْلَى مِنْ الْعَسَلِ فِيهِ طُيُورٌ أَعْنَاقُهَا كَأَعْنَاقِ الْجُزُرِ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ إِنَّهَا لَنَاعِمَةٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ آكِلُوهَا أَنْعَمُ مِنْهَا

English Translation
Ya'qub narrated to us, Abu Uwais narrated to us, he said: Ibn Shihab informed me that his brother informed him that Anas ibn Malik al-Ansari (رضي الله عنه) told him that a man asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: 'What is al-Kawthar?' the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'It is a river that Allah (عز وجل) has given me in Paradise. Its soil is musk, its water is whiter than milk and sweeter than honey. Birds with necks like the necks of camels come to it.' 'Umar said: 'O Messenger of Allah, indeed those birds are comfortable.' He (ﷺ) said: 'The one who eats them is even more comfortable, O 'Umar.'
