حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ الْأَحْوَلُ حَدَّثَتْنِي حَفْصَةُ بِنْتُ سِيرِينَ قَالَتْ قَالَ لِي أَنَسُ

بْنُ مَالِكٍ بِمَ مَاتَ يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ فَقُلْتُ بِالطَّاعُونِ فَقَالَ أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الطَّاعُونُ شَهَادَةٌ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ

English Translation

Affan narrated to us, Abd al-Wahid ibn Ziyad narrated to us, Asim al-Ahwal narrated to us, Hafsah bint Sirin narrated to me, she said: Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) said to me, 'What did Yahya ibn Abi Amrah die of?' I said, 'Of the plague.' Anas ibn Malik said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'The plague is martyrdom for every Muslim.'
