Hadith #17

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَيَقْدَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ قَوْمٌ هُمْ أَرَقُّ قُلُوبًا لِلْإِسْلَامِ مِنْكُمْ قَالَ
فَقَدِمَ الْأَشْعَرِيُّونَ مِنْهُمْ أَبُو مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيُّ فَلَمَّا قَرُبُوا مِنْ الْمَدِينَةِ جَعَلُوا يَرْتَجِزُونَ وَجَعَلُوا يَقُولُونَ غَدًا نَلْقَى الْأَحِبَّةَ مُحَمَّدًا وَحِزْبَهُ قَالَ وَكَانَ هُمْ أَوَّلَ مَنْ أَحْدَثَ الْمُصَافَحَةَ
English Translation
Yahya ibn Ishaq narrated to us, he said Yahya ibn Ayyub informed us, Humayd at-Tawil narrated to us, he said I heard Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) saying: the Prophet ﷺ said: 'There will come to you a people who are more tender-hearted toward Islam than you.' The delegation of al-Ash'ariyyun came, among them Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (رضي الله عنه). When they drew near Madinah, they began chanting: 'Tomorrow we shall meet the beloved ones, Muhammad and his party.'
