حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلٌ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ نَفَرًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ لَا أَتَزَوَّجُ وَقَال
َ بَعْضُهُمْ أُصَلِّي وَلَا أَنَامُ وَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ أَصُومُ وَلَا أُفْطِرُ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ مَا بَالُ أَقْوَامٍ قَالُوا كَذَا وَكَذَا لَكِنِّي أَصُومُ وَأُفْطِرُ وَأُصَلِّي وَأَنَامُ وَأَتَزَوَّجُ النِّسَاءَ فَمَنْ رَغِبَ عَنْ سُنَّتِي فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي

English Translation
Mu'ammal narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, Thabit narrated to us, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) that a group of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said — some of them said: 'I will not marry,' and some said: 'I will pray and not sleep,' and some said: 'I will fast and not break my fast.' When that reached the Prophet ﷺ, he praised Allah and said: 'What is the matter with people who say such-and-such? But I pray and I sleep, I fast and I break my fast, and I marry women. Whoever turns away from my Sunnah is not of me.'
