حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ قَالَ بَلَغَنَا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى خَلْفَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ فِي وَجَعِهِ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ قَاعِد

ًا مُتَوَشِّحًا بِثَوْبٍ قَالَ أَظُنُّهُ قَالَ بُرْدًا ثُمَّ دَعَا أُسَامَةَ فَأَسْنَدَ ظَهْرَهُ إِلَى نَحْرِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا أُسَامَةُ ارْفَعْنِي إِلَيْكَ قَالَ يَزِيدُ وَكَانَ فِي الْكِتَابَ الَّذِي مَعِي عَنْ أَنَسٍ فَلَمْ يَقُلْ عَنْ أَنَسٍ فَأَنْكَرَهُ وَأَثْبَتَ ثَابِتًا

English Translation

Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, Humayd al-Tawil informed us, from Thabit al-Bunani who said: 'It reached us that the Prophet ﷺ prayed behind Abu Bakr during his illness in which he died, sitting and wrapping himself in a garment.' He (Thabit) said: I asked Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) about it, and he said: 'Yes.'
