حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا هِلَالُ بْنُ أَبِي دَاوُدَ يَعْنِي الْحَبَطِيُّ أَبُو هِشَامٍ قَالَ أَخِي هَارُونُ بْنُ أَبِي دَاوُدَ أَتَيْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ فَقُلْتُ يَا أَبَا حَمْزَةَ إِنَّ الْمَكَانَ بَعِيدٌ وَنَحْنُ يُعْجِبُنَا أَنْ نَعُودَكَ فَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ فَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَق
ُولُ أَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ عَادَ مَرِيضًا فَإِنَّمَا يَخُوضُ فِي الرَّحْمَةِ فَإِذَا قَعَدَ عِنْدَ الْمَرِيضِ غَمَرَتْهُ الرَّحْمَةُ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَذَا الصَّحِيحُ الَّذِي يَعُودُ الْمَرِيضَ فَالْمَرِيضُ مَا لَهُ قَالَ تُحَطُّ عَنْهُ ذُنُوبُهُ

English Translation
Hasan ibn Musa narrated to us, Hilal ibn Abi Dawud — meaning al-Habati, Abu Hisham — narrated to us, he said: My brother Harun ibn Abi Dawud said: I came to Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) and said: 'O Abu Hamzah, the place between us and you is far, and I would like you to narrate to me something you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'On the Day of Resurrection, Allah (عز وجل) will gather the people and they will be inspired with that. They will say: If only we could seek intercession with our Lord so He would relieve us from this place.' And he mentioned the hadith of intercession.
