حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَجُلٍ عَلَيْهِ دَيْنٌ فَأُتِيَ بِمَيِّتٍ فَسَأَلَ هَلْ عَلَيْهِ دَيْنٌ قَالُوا نَ
عَمْ دِينَارَانِ قَالَ صَلُّوا عَلَى صَاحِبِكُمْ فَقَالَ أَبُو قَتَادَةَ هُمَا عَلَيَّ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ فَلَمَّا فَتَحَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَلَى رَسُولِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَنَا أَوْلَى بِكُلِّ مُؤْمِنٍ مِنْ نَفْسِهِ فَمَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا فَعَلَيَّ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِوَرَثَتِهِ

English Translation
Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Abu Salamah ibn Abd al-Rahman, from Jabir ibn Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Prophet ﷺ would not pray the funeral prayer over one who died in debt. A dead person was brought to him, and he asked: 'Does he have any debt?' They said: 'Yes, two dinars.' He said: 'Pray for your companion.' Abu Qatadah said: 'They are upon me, O Messenger of Allah.' So he prayed over him.
