Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا سَيَّارُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سُلَيْمَانَ حَدَّثَنَا الْجَعْدُ أَبُو عُثْمَانَ حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ قَالَ اشْتَكَى أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم
َ إِلَيْهِ الْعَطَشَ قَالَ فَدَعَا بِعُسٍّ فَصُبَّ فِيهِ شَيْءٌ مِنْ مَاءٍ فَوَضَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِيهِ يَدَهُ وَقَالَ اسْقُوا فَاسْتَقَى النَّاسُ قَالَ فَكُنْتُ أَرَى الْعُيُونَ تَنْبُعُ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَصَابِعِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

English Translation
Sayyar ibn Hatim narrated to us, Ja'far — meaning Ibn Sulayman — narrated to us, al-Ja'd Abu Uthman narrated to us, Anas ibn Malik narrated to us, from Jabir ibn Abdullah al-Ansari (رضي الله عنهما) who said: The Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ complained to him about the thorns and difficulties of the journey and the hardness of the ground [for sleeping]. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When you halt at a resting place, clean it [of rocks and thorns].'
