Hadith #198
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ جَابِرًا عَنْ الْقَتِيلِ الَّذِي قُتِلَ فَأَذَّنَ فِيهِ سُحَيْمٌ فَقَالَ جَابِرٌ أَمَرَ النَّبِ
يُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُحَيْمًا أَنْ يُؤَذِّنَ فِي النَّاسِ أَلَا لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ إِلَّا مُؤْمِنٌ قَالَ جَابِرٌ وَلَا أَعْلَمُهُ قُتِلَ أَحَدٌ

English Translation
Musa informed us, Ibn Lahi'ah informed us, from Abu al-Zubayr who said: I asked Jabir about the man who was killed and Suhaym announced it. Jabir said: the Prophet ﷺ commanded Suhaym to announce among the people: 'Indeed no believer killed him. Indeed a man from the hypocrites killed him.' the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not pray the funeral prayer over the slain man because he was a hypocrite.
