Hadith #600
Arabic Text
قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ : مَالِكٌ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنْ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا وَقَفَ عَلَى الصَّفَا يُكَبِّرُ ثَلَاثًا وَيَقُولُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ وَفِي حَدِيثِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ يَصْنَعُ ذَلِكَ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ وَيَدْعُو وَيَصْنَعُ عَلَى الْمَرْوَةِ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ
English Translation
He (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that i read to 'Abd al-Rahman: Malik — and Ishaq narrated to us, Malik informed us — from Ja'far, from his father, from Jabir ibn Abdullah (رضي الله عنهما) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, when he stood at al-Safa, would exclaim: 'Allahu Akbar' three times, then say: 'La ilaha illallah wahdahu la sharika lah, lahu al-mulk wa lahu al-hamd, wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir (There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. To Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs all praise, and He is over all things capable).' He would say this three times. Then he would supplicate, then he would do the same at al-Marwah.
