Hadith #111
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُبَارَكُ حَدَّثَنِي نَصْرُ بْنُ رَاشِدٍ عَمَّن
ْ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ قَالَ تُوُفِّيَ رَجُلٌ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ بَنِي عُذْرَةَ فَقُبِرَ لَيْلًا فَنَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُقْبَرَ الرَّجُلُ لَيْلًا حَتَّى يُصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا أَنْ يَضْطَرُّوا إِلَى ذَلِكَ

English Translation
'Affan narrated to us, al-Mubarak narrated to us, Nasr ibn Rashid narrated to me, from someone who narrated to him, from Jabir ibn Abdullah al-Ansari (رضي الله عنهما) who said: A man from Banu 'Udhrah died during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He was buried at night. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ rebuked that and said: 'Do not bury your dead at night unless you are compelled to.'
