حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ مُوس
َى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ حِزَامٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ خَيْرَ الصَّدَقَةِ عَنْ ظَهْرِ غِنًى وَالْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ مِنْ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى وَابْدَأْ بِمَنْ تَعُولُ

English Translation
Muhammad ibn 'Ubayd narrated to us, from 'Amr ibn 'Uthman, from Musa ibn Talhah, from Hakim ibn Hizam (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The best charity is that which comes from surplus. The upper hand (the giving hand) is better than the lower hand (the receiving hand). Begin with those you are responsible for.'
