English Translation
Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Ibn Abi Khuzamah, from his father who said: 'I said: O Messenger of Allah' — and Sufyan said on one occasion: 'I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: Do you think that the medicines we use for treatment, the ruqyah (spiritual healing) we seek, and the precautions we take change anything of Allah's decree?' He ﷺ said: 'They are [part] of Allah's decree.'
