حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنَا زَبَّانُ وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ غَيْلَانَ حَدَّثَنَا رِشْدِينُ عَنْ زَبَّانَ ع
َنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَنْ حَرَسَ مِنْ وَرَاءِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى مُتَطَوِّعًا لَا يَأْخُذُهُ سُلْطَانٌ لَمْ يَرَ النَّارَ بِعَيْنَيْهِ إِلَّا تَحِلَّةَ الْقَسَمِ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى يَقُولُ { وَإِنْ مِنْكُمْ إِلَّا وَارِدُهَا }

English Translation
Ḥasan narrated to us: Ibn Lahīʿah narrated to us: Zabbān narrated to us. And Yaḥyā ibn Ghaylān narrated to us: Rishdīn narrated to us, from Zabbān, from Sahl ibn Muʿādh, from his father [Muʿādh ibn Anas al-Juhanī] (رضي الله عنه), from the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ who said: 'Whoever leaves wearing fine clothes while he is able to do so, out of humility before Allāh, the Mighty and Majestic, Allāh will call him on the Day of Resurrection before the heads of creation and give him the choice of whichever garment of faith he wishes to wear.'
