English Translation
Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ʿAbdullāh ibn Yazīd narrated to us: Saʿīd ibn Abī Ayyūb narrated to us, saying: Abū Marḥūm ʿAbd al-Raḥīm ibn Maymūn informed me, from Sahl ibn Muʿādh ibn Anas al-Juhanī, from his father [Muʿādh ibn Anas al-Juhanī] (رضي الله عنه), from the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ who said: 'Whoever protects a believer from a hypocrite — I think he said — Allāh will send an angel to protect his flesh from the Fire of Jahannam on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever accuses a Muslim of something, wishing to disgrace him by it, Allāh will confine him on the bridge of Jahannam until he comes out of what he said.'
