Hadith #205

قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ بَحْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ جَنَاحٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ بْنِ حَلْبَسٍ عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْقَعِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ أَلَا إِنَّ فُلَانَ بْنَ فُلَانٍ فِي ذِمَّتِكَ وَحَبْلِ جِوَارِكَ فَقِهِ فِتْنَةَ الْقَبْرِ وَعَذَابَ النَّارِ أَنْتَ أَهْلُ الْوَفَاءِ وَالْحَقِّ اللَّهُمَّ فَاغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ فَإِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ
English Translation
ʿAlī ibn Baḥr narrated to us: al-Walīd ibn Muslim narrated to us: Marwān ibn Janāḥ narrated to us, from Yūnus ibn Maysarah ibn Ḥalbas, from Wāthilah ibn al-Asqaʿ, that he heard the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ say: 'Indeed so-and-so son of so-and-so is in Your covenant and the rope of Your protection, so protect him from the trial of the grave and the punishment of the Fire. You are the People of faithfulness and truth. O Allāh, forgive him and have mercy on him, for You are the Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.'
