حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ مُنِيبٍ عَنْ عَمِّهِ قَالَ بَلَغَ رَجُلًا عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَنْ سَتَرَ أَخَاهُ الْمُسْلِمَ فِي الد
ُّنْيَا سَتَرَهُ اللَّهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَرَحَلَ إِلَيْهِ وَهُوَ بِمِصْرَ فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ الْحَدِيثِ قَالَ نَعَمْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ سَتَرَ أَخَاهُ الْمُسْلِمَ فِي الدُّنْيَا سَتَرَهُ اللَّهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ قَالَ وَأَنَا قَدْ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

English Translation
Muʾammal ibn Ismāʿīl Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān narrated to us, he said: Ḥammād narrated to us, he said: ʿAbd al-Malik ibn ʿUmayr narrated to us, from Munīb, from his uncle, he said: A man heard that another man among the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ was narrating from the Prophet ﷺ that he said: Whoever conceals the faults of his Muslim brother in this world, Allāh will conceal him on the Day of Resurrection. So he traveled to him while he was in Egypt and asked him about the ḥadīth. He said: Yes, I heard the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ say: Whoever conceals his Muslim brother in this world, Allāh will conceal him on the Day of Resurrection. He said: And I too heard it from the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ.
