قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ عَنْ أَشْعَثَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي شَيْخٌ مِنْ بَنِي مَالِكِ بْنِ كِنَانَةَ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِسُوقِ ذِي الْمَجَازِ يَتَخَلَّلُهَا يَقُولُ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ قُولُوا لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ تُفْلِحُوا قَالَ وَأَبُو جَهْلٍ يَحْثِي عَلَيْهِ التُّرَابَ وَيَقُولُ يَا أَيُّهَا ال
نَّاسُ لَا يَغُرَّنَّكُمْ هَذَا عَنْ دِينِكُمْ فَإِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ لِتَتْرُكُوا آلِهَتَكُمْ وَتَتْرُكُوا اللَّاتَ وَالْعُزَّى قَالَ وَمَا يَلْتَفِتُ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ قُلْنَا انْعَتْ لَنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ بَيْنَ بُرْدَيْنِ أَحْمَرَيْنِ مَرْبُوعٌ كَثِيرُ اللَّحْمِ حَسَنُ الْوَجْهِ شَدِيدُ سَوَادِ الشَّعْرِ أَبْيَضُ شَدِيدُ الْبَيَاضِ سَابِغُ الشَّعْرِ

English Translation
Abū al-Naḍr narrated to us, he said: Shaybān narrated to us, from Ashʿath, he said: An elder from Banū Mālik ibn Kinānah narrated to me, he said: I saw the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ in the market of Dhū al-Majāz, walking through it saying: O people, say lā ilāha illallāh and you will succeed. And Abū Jahl was throwing dirt on him and saying: O people, do not let this one deceive you away from your religion, for he only wants you to abandon your gods and abandon al-Lāt and al-ʿUzzā. And the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ did not turn to him at all. We said: Describe the Messenger of Allāh for us. He said: He was wearing two red garments, of medium build, well-fleshed, handsome of face, with intensely black hair, white with strong whiteness, and with long flowing hair.
