حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ حَكِيمِ بْنِ حِزَامٍ قَالَ تَنَاوَلَ أَبُو عُبَيْ
دَةَ رَجُلًا بِشَيْءٍ فَنَهَاهُ خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ فَقَالَ أَغْضَبْتَ الْأَمِيرَ فَأَتَاهُ فَقَالَ إِنِّي لَمْ أُرِدْ أَنْ أُغْضِبَكَ وَلَكِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ أَشَدَّ النَّاسِ عَذَابًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَشَدُّ النَّاسِ عَذَابًا لِلنَّاسِ فِي الدُّنْيَا

English Translation
Khālid ibn Ḥakīm ibn Ḥizām narrated: Abū ʿUbaydah reprimanded a man for something, and Khālid ibn al-Walīd rebuked him, saying: 'You have angered the commander!' So he went to him and said: 'I did not intend to anger you, but I heard the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ say: Indeed the most severely punished people on the Day of Resurrection are those who most severely punish people in this world.'
