حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ وَحَجَّاجٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي الطُّفَيْلِ قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ فِي حَدِيثِهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الطُّفَيْلِ قَالَ قَدِمَ مُعَاوِيَةُ وَابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ فَطَافَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ فَاسْتَلَمَ الْأَرْكَانَ كُلَّهَا فَقَالَ لَهُ مُعَاوِيَةُ إِنَّمَا اسْتَلَمَ رَسُو
لُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الرُّكْنَيْنِ الْيَمَانِيَّيْنِ قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ لَيْسَ مِنْ أَرْكَانِهِ شَيْءٌ مَهْجُورٌ قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ النَّاسُ يَخْتَلِفُونَ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ يَقُولُونَ مُعَاوِيَةُ هُوَ الَّذِي قَالَ لَيْسَ مِنْ الْبَيْتِ شَيْءٌ مَهْجُورٌ وَلَكِنَّهُ حَفِظَهُ مِنْ قَتَادَةَ هَكَذَا

English Translation
Abū al-Ṭufayl narrated: Muʿāwiyah and Ibn ʿAbbās arrived. Ibn ʿAbbās performed ṭawāf and touched all the corners [of the Kaʿbah]. Muʿāwiyah said to him: 'The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ only touched the two Yemeni corners.' Ibn ʿAbbās said: 'None of its corners is to be abandoned.' Ḥajjāj said: Shuʿbah said: 'People differ regarding this hadith. They say it was Muʿāwiyah who said: None of the House is to be abandoned. But he [Shuʿbah] memorized it from Qatādah like this.'
