حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ وَابْنُ بَكْرٍ قَالَا أَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي الْخُوَارِ أَنَّ نَافِعَ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ أَرْسَلَهُ إِلَى السَّائِبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ابْنِ أُخْتِ نَمِرٍ يَسْأَلُهُ عَنْ شَيْءٍ رَآهُ مِنْه
ُ مُعَاوِيَةُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ صَلَّيْتُ مَعَهُ الْجُمُعَةَ فِي الْمَقْصُورَةِ فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ قُمْتُ فِي مَقَامِي فَصَلَّيْتُ فَلَمَّا دَخَلَ أَرْسَلَ إِلَيَّ فَقَالَ لَا تَعُدْ لِمَا فَعَلْتَ إِذَا صَلَّيْتَ الْجُمُعَةَ فَلَا تَصِلْهَا بِصَلَاةٍ حَتَّى تَتَكَلَّمَ أَوْ تَخْرُجَ فَإِنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَ بِذَلِكَ لَا تُوصَلُ بِصَلَاةٍ حَتَّى تَخْرُجَ أَوْ تَتَكَلَّمَ

English Translation
Al-Sāʾib ibn Yazīd, the nephew of Namir, narrated: I prayed Jumuʿah with Muʿāwiyah in the maqṣūrah [enclosed area]. When he said the salām, I stood in my place and prayed [the sunnah]. When he entered [his quarters], he sent for me and said: 'Do not repeat what you did. When you pray Jumuʿah, do not connect it with another prayer until you speak or leave, for the Prophet ﷺ of Allāh ﷺ commanded that: a prayer should not be connected to another until you leave or speak.'
