حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزَّاهِرِيَّةِ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ
بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّمَا أَنَا مُبَلِّغٌ وَاللَّهُ يَهْدِي وَقَاسِمٌ وَاللَّهُ يُعْطِي فَمَنْ بَلَغَهُ مِنِّي شَيْءٌ بِحُسْنِ رَغْبَةٍ وَحُسْنِ هُدًى فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ الَّذِي يُبَارَكُ لَهُ فِيهِ وَمَنْ بَلَغَهُ عَنِّي شَيْءٌ بِسُوءِ رَغْبَةٍ وَسُوءِ هُدًى فَذَاكَ الَّذِي يَأْكُلُ وَلَا يَشْبَعُ

English Translation
Muʿāwiyah ibn Abī Sufyān narrated that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: 'I am only a conveyer and Allāh guides, and a distributor and Allāh gives. Whoever something of mine reaches with good desire and good guidance, that is the one who will be blessed in it. And whoever something of mine reaches with ill desire and ill guidance, that is the one who eats and is never satisfied.'
