حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَوْهَبٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ تَمِيمًا الدَّارِيَّ يَقُولُ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلّ

َى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا السُّنَّةُ فِي الرَّجُلِ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكُفْرِ يُسْلِمُ عَلَى يَدَيْ الرَّجُلِ مِنْ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَقَالَ هُوَ أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِحَيَاتِهِ وَمَوْتِهِ

English Translation

Abū Nuʿaym narrated to us, ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz narrated to us, from ʿAbdullāh ibn Mawhab who said: I heard Tamīm al-Dārī saying: I asked the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ: "What is the Sunnah regarding a man from the people of disbelief who accepts Islam at the hands of a Muslim man?" He said: "He is the closest person to him in life and in death."
