English Translation

ʿAffān narrated to us, Ḥammād ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Ḥumayd, from al-Ḥasan, from a man, from Abū Hurayrah — and Dāwūd from Zurārah, from Tamīm al-Dārī — from the Prophet ﷺ who said: "The first thing the servant will be held accountable for on the Day of Resurrection is the prayer. If he completed it fully, it will be recorded as complete. But if he did not complete it, He will say to the angels: 'Look and see whether My servant has any voluntary prayers, and use them to complete whatever he neglected of his obligatory prayer.' Then zakāh, then all other deeds will be taken according to that reckoning."
