حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ بَهْرَامَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ش
َهْرَ بْنَ حَوْشَبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو ظَبْيَةَ قَالَ قَالَ عَمْرُو بْنُ عَبَسَةَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ أَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ مُسْلِمٍ رَمَى بِسَهْمٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَبَلَغَ مُخْطِئًا أَوْ مُصِيبًا فَلَهُ مِنْ الْأَجْرِ كَرَقَبَةٍ أَعْتَقَهَا مِنْ وَلَدِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ

English Translation
Rawḥ narrated to us, he said: ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd ibn Bahrām narrated to us, he said: I heard Shahr ibn Ḥawshab say: Abū Ẓabyah narrated to me, he said: ʿAmr ibn ʿAbasah said: I heard the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ saying: "Any Muslim man who shoots an arrow in the path of Allāh عز وجل that reaches its target — whether he misses or hits — he will have the reward equivalent to freeing a slave from the descendants of Ismāʿīl."
